ETHIOPIA

A world-class destination for the discerning and thoughtful traveller. Journeys that you will never forget.

We plan journeys to North, South, and East Ethiopia.

The Northern Circuit also called the Historical circuit explores the highlands, visiting sites like Lalibela, Bahir Dar (Lake Tana, the Monasteries, the Blue Nile), Gondar, the seat of the Fassilid Empire, the Simien Mountains home to the Gelada Baboons and Axum, oldest city in Ethiopia with its stone stelae and Saint Mary’s church, said to contain the Ark of the Covenant. In addition, the rock-hewn churches of the Tigray can also be explored.

The Eastern Circuit journeys across the Muslim city of Harar, the Dallol Desert reputedly the hottest place on Earth with the salt lakes of the Awash river with its incredible camel caravans, the Danakil Depression (the lowest place in Africa with over 100 meters below sea level) with awesome sulfur springs and the Erta Ale active volcano, one of the few on the planet to contain lava lakes. For the wildlife lover, the Awash National Park contains arid and semi-arid woodland along the Awash River home to dik-dik, kudu, warthog, oryx, Soemmerring’s gazelle, and baboon and a prolific birdlife.

The seldom visited Southern Circuit includes the Rift Valley and stretches as far east as the Bale Mountains. This circuit may combine wildlife safaris in national parks (Bale Mountains, Chebera Churchura, Omo Valley, Gambela, and others) and/or a visit to the indigenous tribes. In the south, tribes like Nyangatom, Dassanech, Mursi, Hamer, Surma, Suri and Bodis still live a traditional way of life, with very beautiful ceremonies

We have teamed with Wildlife Expeditions of Ethiopia organize tailor-made journeys to one or more of the three circuits. You can travel by terrestrial means, by air or a combination of both.
